Splish Spash

Noyln LOVES bathtime. She always splashing, but as of last night she started splashing really crazy. She was doing it again tonight while Grant was giving her a bath so I had to get a video of it. Its very cute and Grant and I laugh pretty hard at her, but we held it in during the video. Thank God I have a baby that loves the water. Now I cant wait till summer and we get to go to the lake.

One year ago today Grant and I found out we were expecting our little Nolyn. I can remember the day like I it was yesterday. First thing I did was go to the bank and opened up our savings account. I was talking to a friend of ours after I was done telling her how I had been feeling myself the last couple of days. She tells me I need to go to wal mart and get a test. My reponse was I didnt need that I wasnt pregnant, but promised to go get one. When I went to wal mart I got the 3 pack. When I got home I read the insturctions and took the first test. It said wait 5 minutes for results, it took less then 1. I called Grant and told the news, but said I was taking another test later to be sure. Before I could take the 2nd test Grant was already spreading the news. He did get into some trouble for it because I thought we would do it together.

Now our little lady is 4 months old. She's now 14lbs and thinks everything is funny. She smiles and laughs A LOT. She's also found her feet and love to hold on to them. She also sucks on her hands, and its very loud. She has also has figured out how to turn on her crib soother. I know a 4 month old shouldnt be able to do it but she turns it on and off with those crazy feet of hers.

Cook's Hospital part 2

Well yesterday I took Nolyn back down for more test. After we checked in they called Nolyn back to the prep room. Here they gave her an IV, which she took like a champ, and was giving a catheter. Of course she cried, but as soon as she wasn't being held down she was laughing, smiling, and talking up a storm. Next we went into a room to do the test. They put her on a table then under a scanner for an hour. They took over 200 pictures to see how both kidneys were functioning. They want to make sure both kidneys are doing there share of work, making sure its 50/50. Hers are working 54/46 which is still in the good range. So our next step is an ultrasound in 3 months, then 3 months after that we run the same test that we did yesterday. So that's all we know as of now. All I know is Nolyn is such a brave girl to go though all that, of course she wont remember any of this, which is good thing.

Doctor News

Well Tuesday Grant and I took Nolyn to her Urologist appointment. Dr Pinto went over her test results and here is what we found out. She could have 1 of 3 things. 1) was reflux, which was ruled out with the test done last month, 2) is a pinch where her kidney and ureter attach, 3) is there is nothing wrong just one kidney is bigger then the other. So on Tuesday we go back to Cook's at 10am to run more test to see if its issue #2 or #3. Then we see Dr Pinto at 2:30 to get the results.

After the Doctors Tuesday we headed to Collinsville to watch Kaila's last basketball game. It was a sad night. Between the girls game and the boys game they honored the seniors and there the parents. So the Senior presented there parents with roses. Well Kaila gave both my parents each a rose and one to me. Since Nolyn's been born her and I have pretty much made all her games. Like I've said before my sisters mean the world to me. I'm lucky to have such wonderful sisters. At the game we also got to see Kellie, my other sister, who we haven't seen in a long time since track season has started and she's gone every weekend. So even though it was a sad night it was a great one as well. So I will keep everyone posted after our appointment Tuesday.

Cook's Hospital

Yesterday I had to take Nolyn to Cook's Children's Hospital to do the test to find out about her kidney. First we did an ultrasound, which she actually enjoyed. Then after that we went to do some xrays. This is where things got bad. They had to stick a tube into her bladder and inject a liquid in it so it would show up on the xray. You think the first shot screams are bad, they had nothing on the scream she let out yesterday. Poor girl, and I was helpless, I had to hold her arms down so they could get the xrays. So now we wait and go to the specialist on Feb 10th.

Milestones

Here is a video of Nolyn rolling over. She has been doing this for about 2 weeks now we just was never able to get a video of it. So now that we have one I thought I would share.

Nolyn will be 11 weeks tomorrow, goodness how time flies. Tomorrow we have our first visit to Cook's Children's Hospital . We're doing an ultrasound on her right kidney, the one that was enlarged. So I have to wake up really early tomorrow to go down there. I dont think tomorrow we'll know anything new until the 10th, thats when we see the specialist.

New Addition

Well last night I got the phone call from my mom that my cousin Chris's wife Gaye had her baby, a little girl. They already have 2 boys and were really hoping for a girl this time. So now the Delka clan has 2 new born little girls, now were just waiting on little Kieston (due date Jan 17 to my cousin Troy and his wife Tammy) and Aiden (due Jan 22 to my cousin Bret, Troy's brother, and his wife Ryane), I hope I spelled both of those right, to get here. Wow that is 4 girls in 2 1/2 months. This makes 5 babies born into the Delka family in the last 12 months. How fast our family grows, but what do you expect when our Dads/Grandpas are 1 of 11 kids (8 boys 3 girls). Now you see why everyone is cousins not 1st, 2nd ect. Were MUCH to big for that, and also to close.

In other news, here are a few new pictures of Nolyn. Nolyn is a BIG tummy time baby. She hates to lay on here back. So because of this she picks her head up VERY well. The first couple of pictures are of her at 9 weeks. Then after that is her on her changing table. She LOVES her changing table. Every time shes on it she is ALL smiles, as you can see. The ones after that is were taken last night during our bedtime routine. Grant does the nighttime feeding and reads Nolyn a book afterwards, then 15-30 minutes later its off to bed. This allows me time to wash and make bottles and get some other stuff done that I need to do. It seems to be working very well for us. It gives me some free time and some great bonding time for Grant.
